The Individualized Summer: Tailoring Wellness to Every Coat and Lifestyle

At
Paws in the Bath (PITB), our fundamental belief is that
pets always walk through first. As summer activities ramp up across the
Greater Toronto Area, we recognize that "summer readiness" isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. Every dog, from the cottage-bound swimmer to the senior neighborhood stroller, requires a
Personalized Grooming Experience tailored to their unique coat type, age, and activity level.
A Low-Stress Environment for Every Best Friend
Summer can be a busy season, but your pet’s grooming session should remain a quiet, calm experience. What truly distinguishes PITB is our commitment to a
wellness-focused setting where we prioritize personalized care and grooming expertise. Our
Individualized Care Approach ensures that your pet receives the specific maintenance they need to stay comfortable during the humid Ontario months.
- Double-Coated Breeds (Huskies, Shepherds): For these furry friends, our
professional de-shedding is a wellness essential. We perform a deep extraction of trapped dander and dead undercoat, allowing their natural cooling system to function effectively without the risks of the "shave-down trap".
- Smooth-Coated Adventurers: Even short hair needs care! Regular
Bath & Brush services are vital for removing seasonal allergens, dirt, and dander that can cause persistent skin irritation throughout the summer.
- The Cottage & Beach Crew: Summer in the GTA means trips to the lake. For swimming dogs, more frequent bathing is necessary to remove
chlorine, sand, and bacteria that can lead to skin issues or odors.
- Active Urban Explorers: High activity on hot GTA trails and asphalt means faster wear on paws. These pets benefit from more frequent
Nail & Pad maintenance to ensure healthy posture and protect sensitive pads from the heat.
- Senior Neighborhood Guests: Our aging best friends deserve extra grace. We recommend
shorter, more frequent maintenance visits to minimize standing time while ensuring their skin and coat remain healthy and mat-free.
The PITB Professional Difference
Whether you are visiting our original hub in
The Beaches (Toronto) or our urban location at
Sherbourne, every session includes a meticulous assessment of the
coat, ears, teeth, and nails by staff with
trained eyes for coat and skin condition. This proactive care identifies issues, like seasonal redness or
pavement-irritated paws, before they become complications. While we maintain a warm, welcoming, and
open environment, we also provide
secure and cozy kennel options for non-social pets who prefer their own quiet, safe space for their security.
Protecting Our Community
To maintain a safe environment across all our neighborhood locations, we adhere to strict safety protocols:
- Parasite Prevention: If you suspect your pet has fleas or ticks after a weekend at the cottage, please
contact your local salon in advance so we can guide you through the next steps.
- Vaccination Standards: Proof of
up-to-date vaccinations (including Rabies) is required for all guests to protect our collective neighborhood health.
